Characterisation of contaminated sites

A series of activities designed to reconstruct the contamination phenomena affecting environmental matrices.

The characterisation of contaminated sites is crucial for a comprehensive understanding of the historical context, hydrogeological characteristics, and structural aspects of a site, facilitating an initial assessment of the nature and extent of the suspected pollution.
This process involves historical research, analysis of existing data, evaluation of planning tools and relevant studies, as well as the collection and compilation of information obtained from investigations.

Over the years, TRS has developed the expertise required to perform analytical and numerical analyses of contamination phenomena in aquifers and soils in order to obtain basic information to support sustainable and practical decisions regarding the site’s safety and/or remediation.
